There is no denying 2020 has changed the way we celebrate, and social media has been full of posts about postponed weddings, cancelled birthdays and virtual baby showers. However, there were some who refused to let COVID ruin everything and instead turned to small but memorable celebrations in their homes.
How to party 2020 style
While major events were getting cancelled and the events industry was in turmoil, my little company has been lucky enough to carry on doing what we do best: Creating small and beautiful home set-ups. So, gather up your (select) loved ones, clear a space in your home or garden and allow your event stylist to create a magical setting for slumber parties, picnics or a home spa set-up that will be as Instagramable as any pre-COVID party. Having small intimate celebrations at home is a great alternative during these times to keep your loved ones safe whilst also refusing to allow your special occasions to pass by unnoticed.
Winter is coming
Somebody finally turned the heat off in the UAE and I cannot wait to get our beautiful bell tents out in the gardens and desert. The tents can be styled in all sorts of beautiful themes, colours and of course will have enough fairy lights to make you feel like you stepped into the Mall of the Emirates at Christmas. Outdoor glamping is a perfect setting for those lucky enough to be celebrating their birthdays, small weddings and baby showers during the winter months and the outdoors has the added bonus of making social distancing even easier.
The extra touch
Even the basic indoor or outdoor tent packages look stunning but to give your occasion the extra wow factor you can add picnic tables (with lots of beautiful décor, of course) a special pamper package, balloon garlands, personalized giveaways, fresh flowers, cakes and cookies. The one thing I love more than anything else is coming up with new ideas with clients and bringing their ideas to life. I might actually have the happiest job in the world!
The COVID checklist:
- Social distanced set-up.
- Sanitized tents, tables and décor.
- PPE worn at all times.
- Small guest list!
